Below is the first week of training. Next to the training numbers are the numbers from the Wine and Dine race, which is going to be used as a baseline.

It would appear as though I am picking up almost 1 minute per mile. The plan is to reduce the 13 mile time by 30 minutes. That is going to be over 2 minutes a mile reduction.

One of the benefits of this running adventure is weight loss. I am now hovering at 220 pounds, which is a 25 pound loss from the beginning of the year. And although that is only an average of 2 pounds a month, it will also make it possible to keep the weight off and lose more as this was not accomplished by any crazy diet, starving myself, or any other fad.

Finally, I am caught up on the running blog!!

The plan for this week is to run 4 miles Tuesday, 5 miles Thursday, and 10 miles Saturday. So far, since switching to the new shoes, all the leg/knee pain is gone eliminating the need for any medicine, with the exception of Advil. I will also start to run faster during the Tuesday and Thursday runs.
